Music is a universal language. To help Hang Seng Bank promote scam awareness to the public, BYFA Consultancy leveraged it as a core medium to integrate fraud prevention messages into the daily lives of citizens.

The Anti-Fraud Band

We formed an unforgettable “Hang Seng Anti-Fraud Band” (恒生防騙大惡隊) with four iconic “Villains” from Hong Kong film and TV: Michael Wong (王敏德), Timothy Tse (鄭子誠), Justin Cheung (張建聲), and Sammy Sum (沈震軒).

By leveraging their well-known villainous personas in an unexpected way, we aimed to surprise the public and make our anti-fraud message memorable.

The Anti-Fraud Song

We recreated a Cantonese classic into a new anthem, “The Fraudsters’ Downfall” (騙徒不勝).  Originating from the pop song 戰無不勝 from the movie Young and Dangerous (古惑仔), it features new lyrics to educate the public on popular scams and convey the campaign’s core message: “Keep Calm and Fight Fraud” (保持淡定騙徒不勝). The lyrics were written by local lyricist Leung Pak Kin (梁栢堅).

A music video was produced for the Hang Seng Bank’s YouTube channel, featuring the four actors and dramatizing common modern scams, such as phishing, investment fraud, online shopping scams, and virtual romance scams, while weaving in practical tips for fraud prevention.

The Launch Event

The campaign adopted an integrated online-to-offline-to-online (O2O2O) strategy to maximize reach. A key highlight was the premier launch event at The Central Market, where the band performed their debut song, “The Fraudsters’ Downfall” (騙徒不勝), live for the first time. This live premiere turned the catchy anthem into a major public moment, promoting scam awareness in a highly engaging and memorable way.
